Distance education allows those students who can't make the commute to campus to take accredited courses in their major. If you so choose, online education gives you the opportunity to take difficult courses that won't show up on your transcript. Alternatively, you may be able to complete online credits for a grade. Advanced Placement exams (AP Exams) are offered in a variety of subjects, offering college credit for classes that you've taken. Test yourself with free practice exams, before visiting the official College Board website to register. If you earn a score of 3 or higher on an AP subject exam, you may be granted advanced placement in college.

Blue Mountain College hematology program
There are almost 7,500 accredited schools in the United States, which collectively enroll 15 million students, and award over three million bachelors and associates degrees every year. If you can pass the rigorous training program, nursing jobs are increasingly available, due to the aging US population, as well as the proliferation of healthcare services. Physical therapists help people who have injuries or illnesses improve their range of movement and manage pain. Physical therapist assistants work under the direction of physical therapists in treating patients. Registered nurses (RN), and licensed vocational nurses (LVN), provide patient care and emotional support. Diagnostic medical sonographers use ultrasound imaging equipment that directs sound waves into a patient’s body in order to diagnose medical conditions.

Research various nursing degree programs that meet your requirements. The CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) is the first step in becoming a nurse. Most CNA programs can be completed within a few months, allowing you to begin working immediately. The next step after the CNA degree is to become an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or LVN ( Licensed Vocational Nurse). This is a one year long program, in which you'll work under an RN, and be assigned advanced care work. In order to become an RN (Registered Nurse), you will be required to earn a bachelors degree in nursing, and will enjoy an enlarged scope of practice over LPNs and CNAs, as well as command a greater salary. An RN has to cope with more responsibility, and oversees the work of LPNs and CNAs under their supervision. Please check with your state board of nursing for practical details and specific exams that you must pass in order to become board certified.
